Runescape fans and players have been non-stop on comparing Old School Runescape and Runescape 3. Ever since Runescape 3 came out, the comparisons are endless. Maybe this is because long time OSRS players dwell on playing or transferring to Runescape 3 and leaving OSRS behind. Or maybe the other one around, gauging Runescape 3 so that they don’t have to leave all the time invested in OSRS. Who knows?
Old School Runescape Account: Comparison
One comparison I encountered is the post of Play-07 in Reddit on one difference between Runescape 3 and Old School Runescape:
“Heres some fun facts about the game we used to love. (Nothing against people who enjoy RS3)
It takes 4 hours less to get 99 Slayer on OSRS than it does to get 99 everything (maxed) on RS3
99 SLAYER OSRS EHP = 430.14hrs
MAXED RS3 EHP = 434.66hrs
You can max on just under 5 accounts on RS3 in the same time you can max on 07
OSRS MAX EHP = 2118.92hrs
RS3 MAX EHP = 434.66hrs
2118.92/434.66 = 4.874891 times
This means that the game we loved back in 07, that is now RS3, gives an average of 5x more xp than it used to

EDIT: Christ. It was a simple comparison between a game I used to play and a game I currently play, relax.”
Old School Runescape Account: Reaction
As I continue to read the comments with regards to the post of Play-07, I couldn’t agree more with one reply. The reply said that Runescape 3 experience gain is so fast because it focuses on end-game rather than the grind that OSRS is known (enjoyable) for. I really think that is on point since Runescape 3 is not really an expansion of older Runescapes. It is a completely different game.
With that said, it is not really fair to compare the two games. It is like comparing apples to oranges. Why don’t we enjoy both games for what they are and just play what you like between the two of them?
