Taking a break from an MMORPG is hard to do. You are accustomed to playing the game every single day and sometimes (most of the time for me), playing is the only thing you are looking forward to in a day. But sometimes we have to deal with real life responsibilities that we have to sacrifice our playing time. It is what it is.

Being a daily player of Old School Runescape for a year straight, the game became my life. I just take a step back of the computer when I had to eat or sleep. No other activity surpassed the importance of playing OSRS every day. You can say that I was really addicted. Suddenly there was a very personal matter that I had to attend to, forcing me to take a break from OSRS. My daily routine was ruined. Thinking that I will never end a day without playing OSRS quickly became a thing of the past.

Now that my personal matters are dealt with, I have a lot of free time on my hand and none to spend it with. Coincidently, a friend of mine who I grew closer playing Old School Runescape asked how am I and if I am still playing OSRS. That friend of mine and I got so close because of the game. He would come to my house just to ask if he can buy OSRS gold from me. Even if they were hard earned, I gave my OSRS Gold to him for free because I just really want someone to play with and I appreciate his friendship even outside of the game. Well now that I have a lot of free time on my hand after work, returning to the game I grew to love is not much of a bad idea. I asked him if he is still playing as well. He said he logs on from time to time and will switch to “addict mode” again if I come back. Of course I would love that! I tried logging in the game but it said that my account is banned. How come? I didn’t login for a year. The notice told me I was banned because of using macros last two weeks ago but I didn’t play for almost a year. So I guess I was hacked and someone used macro. Explaining to the authorities what happened is a failure and they said they did all the measures to assure they are banning the right person. What now? All my progress on that account, ruined. I don’t know what else to do or how this happened. I guess my friend and I should just move on to another game?
