As I am full aware of these types of, if you may, crime towards other people, I have not been a victim yet. I am very cautious in giving away any information about my account, more importantly to other players that I do not know in real life. These scammers are getting creative by the day and Old School Runescape is also a game where they lurk. Actually there are many in the game and you should be aware as well. They will try all sorts of things just to get an access to your account and in return, you won’t be able to login to your account anymore. Next thing you know, you are a victim. No more account, all time and effort wasted.

A Perfect Example of a Scam But Failed

Being aware of these scams, I tried to find example stories in the internet that scammers failed to accomplish their evil deeds on innocent Old School Runescape players. Here is one:

“So I was just bank standing at the G.E on a f2p world, and this level 10 walks up to me and asks me if if I could help him get the colorful boots from the barbarian stronghold. I thought he was a new player that just started playing, so I decided to help him out.

As we went through the stronghold, I noticed that he had already done the stronghold before. He accidentally went through one of the security question doors with no delay and quickly went back through in order to prevent me from noticing. He also started asking me questions about my account, and I answered a few of them before realizing what he was doing. He asked me where I was from, how much money I had, and when I started playing Runescape.

Moral of the story, be careful”

This is the experience of Rozters from 2007scape subreddit. Just like his experience, you never know when these scammers will try to get account information from your Runescape 2007 account. In this instance, the scammer acted as if he was a new player. So people, beware and be aware of people trying to get account information from you because for sure they are scammers.
