Can someone explain to me what I’m doing wrong? I’ve finished the Eagles’ Peak quest and have the hunter level to catch ferrets. I go to the camp site form the quest where the ferrets are and lay down a box trap. A ferret will come in and trap will become a shaking box which I can then check to get a ferret in my inventory. Seems like it should all be good, but for whatever reason I don’t get any xp when this happens. I pick up the shaking box and have a ferret and the box trap in my inventory, but at no point do I get any xp. I can release the ferret or use it in a rabbit hole but still no xp.

During the quest, at the end when the guy shows you how to catch ferrets it very briefly mentions baiting the trap with meat. It doesn’t mention what kind of meat or even if it’s raw or cooked or if this is even necessary (which it doesn’t appear to be since I can catch them just fine without baiting the trap), so I’m not sure what the point of mentioning that in the cutscene was. Also, I’ve seen what I think is an RS3 video where the guy uses a lit torch on the box trap to “remove his scent” or whatever the game called it. Is that something that needs to be done as well or is that just an RS3 thing?

The wiki page mentions no more information than you catch them with a box trap.

Any ideas why I can’t get any xp from these stupid ferrets. I seem to be missing something

I am not sure the answer though since I didn’t encounter this on my Runescape 2007 Accounts. So any help by answering will be deeply appreciated!
