A bright story from Reddit in which the real world and Old School Runescape connected. SchoolRS posted in Reddit:
“Saw a guy in my school library playing OSRS.. total noob, wearing full adamant mining coal in the falador mine like we all used to back in the day. So I walked past him and glance at his username, log into a computer few down from his and hop to his world. I head down to falador mine and randomly trade him 2mil and full rune. Never seen someone smile so wide in my life.
Anyone else seen someone playing RS in real life? Did you talk to them?”
Old School Runescape: Reaction
As I was reading SchoolRS’ post, I thought he was being a complete douche for calling someone a noob and then I realized to myself, “Oh SchoolRS used the term noob correctly and not by any means derogatory. LOL.” Pretty rare. Anyways, I continued
reading and the post got better. It brought me to smile that he brought someone a smile. Giving a complete stranger a big amount of in-game money and a rare item is unusual in the very brutal world of MMORPG.
RS 07 Gold: Hmm…
As I browsed down the page, someone commented on SchoolRS: “There’s a lot of people that play at my school in the computer lab. I found and killed one of them in DMM.” Not that it was bad. After all, you can kill another player in Old School Runescape. Let’s just think that he was a “competitive” player. LOL!
Nonetheless, SchoolRs’ story and action brought a bright spot in the dark world of MMORPG wherein strangers are hostile to one another. I really do hope more stories like this come up in the internet because this makes a day a lot better.
