Google Authenticator for “Better” Runescape gold security has been applied this week in runescape. Jagex have replaced their own Jagex Account Guardian or the so called “JAG” with the google authenticator.

Jagex Account Guardian is the core security measure of runescape account available. With its IP and device restriction, it always asks the user for its security answer for you to be able to gain access to your account. Though this method is somewhat hassle to most of the players, this still makes them feel more confident and secure on their runescape gold.

 

What makes jagex move the runescape gold protection to the next level?

For the past week, Jagex said that they have received huge number of queries regarding on JAG bug. With this issue, Jagex came up to the solution by “upgrading” their security and finally use the google authenticator. Unlike JAG which you still need to wait for the authenticator email or input your security answer every time; Google Authenticator will give you your code upon opening the app. This app is available for android and iOS. For some players especially the ones who doesn’t have smart phones, they are requesting if they can use another security measure to protect their runescape gold since JAG will be completely removed in the summer.
