There is no complete MMORPG. No online game is built to perfection. I dare you to name one MMORPG that has no flaws. For sure, someone, somewhere will come up with something that is lacking on that game.
With this said comes in what we call add-ons and third party programs. People from who knows where come up with these blessings, if you may, to fill that what lacks in a game and allows more convenience to players.
RS 07 Gold: Public Service Announcement
Here is someone that is putting an effort in making a program that OSRS players will benefit:
I posted this on /r/2007scape, but I feel like I may have better luck here, so here we go:
Hey all, I’m developing an armor set builder for OSRS in Java. It’ll be able to look up players from hiscores, build armor sets from scratch, and calculate on the fly their DPS against any given target – including Slayer helmet, Salve, Dharok’s, you name it. It’s currently a WIP, and it’s my first time developing an application, so it’s pretty rough – so if there are any more experienced programmers here, I’d really appreciate some advice! Shoot me a PM and we can talk about it.
I also have some WIP screenshots here, and if I ever get it to a working state, I’ll probably post it here — right now, I’d say it’s about 60-70% complete.
Right now, it’s using the JavaFX default style set, but once I’m finished, I’ll probably write up a stylesheet so it looks more runescape-y.
He is dragonfyre173 from Reddit. If he finishes this program for Old School Runescape, then it will be amazing. Unfortunately he is not really that good of a programmer (he admitted). So if any more talented programmers out there, please help this dude out. This will be of great service for Old School Runescape players all over the world for it will make gearing a lot easier. Imagine just putting the armor pieces in place to determine if it will produce big enough damage to get through the game easier, I will be like “OMG THIS IS AWESOME!”
I hope you guys follow the development of this and support dragonfyre173 for his epic idea!
