RS 07 Gold: Game Veterans

Ever heard or encountered someone proudly entitled himself as a “veteran” of a game they are in? You have? Well if have not, yes, most likely you will. For some strange reason, players do say they are a veteran in the game and proud of it.

RS 07 Gold: In OSRS

In an ancient…Okay, ancient is a little too harsh… old game like Old School Runescape, most definitely there are veterans who still play the game. As in the literal meaning of veteran: A veteran (from Latin vetus, meaning “old”), a person who has long service or experience in a particular occupation or field.

I mean, yeah, they are really a veteran in the game because it is quite old and if you have been playing for a while now, yeah, you are a veteran. But really, announcing that you are doesn’t really mean anything. And if you are trying to change anything by proclaiming you are a veteran, true or not, won’t change anything.

I have some rough ideas on why they like regarding themselves (true or not, who cares?) as veterans. Again, this is my opinion and I can be correct or not. Please feel free to comment if you agree, disagree or have a completely new opinion about mine. Please, read on.

They want the people to know they are good in the game.

  • By saying that they are a veteran in a game like OSRS, they want to let the whole server know they are good. Reality check though, that doesn’t mean a thing when you say you are a veteran with regards to you being a good player. You become good by actions. PvE or PvP. You show people how you roll and how you are REALLY good.

They want the people to know they are knowledgeable.

  • Okay, so what is it to us that you are knowledgeable? We can appreciate the help with your knowledge of the game but you could have stopped there. No need to say that you know that because you are a veteran. If I’m not too lazy to alt+tab and find a guide or an answer to my inquiry to you, you wouldn’t had the chance to let the whole population know you are a veteran. So yeah, here’s a dollar and go buy OSRS gold, you veteran.

There are many more ideas but while I was writing this article, I figured that these two reasons are enough to voice out that it doesn’t matter (The Rock, anyone?) if you are a veteran in OSRS or not. If you are good, prove it. Not just behind the (lies) mere declaration that you are a veteran.
