What Drives You in Old School Runescape

I bump into another interesting topic from Reddit and this time it is about “Despite Runescape being fun and all, there is something that makes me lose interest” Yes, MMORPG’s are fun and all, but sometimes there are parts of any game that will make you think “why do I even play this game?”

Ever felt like that? I think it’s a normal thing to feel while playing. There are millions of reasons to feel that way. Let’s find out about this Runescape player in Reddit what caused his.

Old School Runescape Gold: Original Post

Runescape player the_hardy_kid posted this on Reddit:

“I find that I
really love playing Runescape (by that, I mean RS and 2007Scape). I think that when you put aside any silly opinions of it (it’s a kids game, it’s too hard etc) and just play it, you’re left with a great game and a ton of content. Every time I just sit down and play the damn game, I find myself absolutely loving it.

But there is always something that causes me to lose interest – the absolute disparity that comes with getting really good. This subreddit is particularly bad for me – I see posts with people getting Dragon gear within the week of launch, and 99’s soon after. Hell, on the front page right now some dude has more 2007Scape money than I’veever had on Runescape – something like 101M. In fact, if he sold that to one of those gold sites, he’d have more than $1000 in his pocket of real money. Don’t get me wrong – these people deserve all the kudos in the world, because it’s a really big achievement, but god damn if it doesn’t make me feel inadequate. In fact, I very rarely come on this sub simply because I’m happier in ignorance of everything that I’m not able to do. Of course, that’s just my opinion – so what do you think?”

RS 2007 Gold

It was very nice to see that people do understand the_hardy_kid and his post. They didn’t go aggressive on him even though they disagree with the original poster. One reply said that people getting things done faster actually motivated him more and gave him more reason to grind and be better at the game. I completely agree to the reply to the_hardy_kid. There is no reason to be discouraged to the achievements of others. The mentality “if they can do it, they I can do it” should prevail every time this happens. And yes, it’s just a game after all. It makes it all the more embarrassing that you give up on “just a game.” So keep your heads up the_hardy_kid! Enjoy the game and you will get there soon!
